Lee Lourdeaux Therapy - Vancouver Counselling

How does this approach lead to lasting change?

I help you investigate and evaluate for yourself the problem at hand, first in terms of its destructive effects (on work, relationships, self-esteem, mood, health, sleep). Then at greater length in terms of the ways it finds to influence your life.

Clarification of what you stand for in your life: you also take the time to clarify an alternate direction to that of the problem, one based on your values and hopes as you link positive past events across your life.

Are there any particular differences and benefits to this approach?

Among a number of differences, a major one is the detailed follow-up letter I send you after each meeting to sum up your new knowledge and pose further questions about the above investigation or your values so that you can work on your own productively.

Included are questions that uncover and unpack society's ideas that feed the problem, that make it stronger.

With a couple, just before one partner listens to me talk to the other, I first help the listener to stand in someone else's shoes. which makes all the difference.

I can arrange for someone else with personal knowledge of your problem to witness our conversation and then respond to a few questions of mine, in a carefully structured meeting. Or you can invite a close friend or partner for this unique, often moving conversation.

Expect effective help with your problem.

Going on sixteen years of practice, I am registered with my professional board which has approved me for counselling specifically with individuals, couples, families, and groups (reg.#00-107).

As part of post-graduate training of more than 300 hours, I took two Training Intensives in Australia with the co-founder of this approach.
